In the last few blogs, we’ve talked about the word of God. We’ve talked about what the word of God is and what to do with the word of God. If you missed any of those blog posts, you can check them here. This week, we’ll be discussing why we should remain in God. We’ll look at God’s word from the Bible to see what He has commanded us to do concerning this matter. We’ll have a much better understanding of the power we gain when we remain in God.
Throughout the Bible, we’ll find many scriptures that talks about abiding in God. In John 15:4-5, God said to remain in Him, as He also remain in us. And that we can not bear fruit unless we remain in Him. Therefore, we have to accept God has our personal Lord and Savior. We have to do everything that He has commanded us to do. And we have to remain in Him at all times. In verse 7 in that same chapter, God also said “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” So there’s great reward when we remain in God. We gain power and authority to conquer anything.
In Colossians 3:1-2, God commanded us to set our hearts on things from above. And to set our minds on things above, not on earthly things. As servants of God, we have to learn how to set our hearts and minds on heavenly things. And since we serve an heavenly God, focusing on things from above is the only way we can remain in Him at all times. So, this week let’s focus on God and heavenly things more than we have before. Let’s continue to read, study and meditate on the word of God day and night. And just like God has promise us, we’ll be able to ask and receive what we wish for.
Say this Prayer with me:
Father God, we thank You for another blessed prosperous week. We ask You to help us abide in You everyday in our lives. We ask You to help us read, study and meditate Your word day and night everyday in our lives. We ask You to help us be doers of Your word. In Your mighty hands we lay our week and our lives. In Jesus name we pray, Amen!
